Doug Bradford was born, raised and currently lives in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He has been painting for over 30 years and his works hang in private collections and galleries throughout Canada, the United States, New Zealand and Japan.
In 2003 Mr. Bradford applied and was accepted to participate in the Canadian Forces Artist Program. This program follows the strong tradition in the Canadian military of providing artists the opportunity to be "in theatre" to interpret their experiences in their chosen medium.
In June 2004 Doug Bradford set out on the HMCS Calgary out of CFB Esquimalt, British Columbia. The result is these paintings, 2 of which will hang in the brand new Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, Ontario that opens May 7, 2005.
