Yves Vial in attendance
Yves Vial’s artistic abilities were recognized at an early age in his native France: when he was only 12 years old, he was one of two students chosen and sponsored by the “Paul Ricard Foundation “ to attend “L’Accadémie de Dessin “ ( the drawing academy) for 4 years. He then went on to be a student at the French Ecole des Beaux Arts and subsequently in Canada where he studied lithography and sculpture.
He draws his inspiration from life: people, animals and landscapes, using different art mediums to express with a minimum of details a maximum of emotions. His influence from 20th century French masters is quite evident through his work, although his unique style is very personal. Presently Yves Vial's favorite medium is charcoal, which allows him to express a very sensuous connection between the paper and the art work.
Yves presently lives in Victoria, Canada
