Visits to Prague and Vienna have been filled with magical moments of beautiful music and art.  They have left memories of meandering through old streets and squares, admiring architecture of other times and sitting in wonderful old European cafes. As I worked on these paintings I was taken back through the memories and emotions these very special cities evoke for me.

I grew up in Wales and was influenced by my father’s love of painting and architecture.  He taught me to draw and to appreciate classical buildings.  My career in radio and television broadcasting started at the BBC in London and continued at CBC, Vancouver.  During my 25 years at CBC I was involved in many areas of arts and documentary programming.  For the past fifteen years I have been focussing full time on my painting, exploring the quiet mystery I look for in this world.  I spent this past year as “Artist in Residence” with Pacific Opera Victoria which was a wonderful experience.
