At Winchester Galleries on Humboldt

Deirdre Roberts grew up in Wales and as a child was influenced by her father’s love of painting and architecture.  A President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, he taught her to draw and appreciate classical buildings.

Her career in radio and television broadcasting started at the BBC in London and continued at CBC, Vancouver.  In 25 years at CBC she was involved in many areas of arts and documentary programming.  Two of her most memorable experiences are of working on documentaries with Toni Onley and Gordon Smith.

These new paintings are inspired by time spent in London, Oxford and at home here in Victoria.

Working in watercolour Deirdre strives for the quiet mystery in everyday scenes.
